This is a reroofing job on the Visitor Center lobby at Zion National Park in Springdale, Utah. The roof is an octagonal shape with approximately 4400 square feet of roofing area. The roof covering the lobby has a slight pitch and the adjoining roofing over the walk area is flat. The structural beams are exposed and divide the roof into eight sections. The existing aggregate roofing must be removed and the decking prepared to a smooth surface to accept the bituminous membrane which will be applied with a heat source.
