The California Institute of Technology (Caltech)seeks to procure S-band telemetry and command and X-band telemetry ground station services for the NASA Galaxy Evolution Explorer (GALEX) Mission. The GALEX Mission is scheduled to launch in September 2001 for a four-year mission to an orbit of 690 km circular and 28.5 degrees inclination. The Mission will use NASA S-band and X-band frequencies (to be assigned) and CCSDS standards. Typical data rates will be: S-band uplink -- 2 kbps; S-band downlink -- 2Mbps; and X-band downlink -- 50 Mbps. If sufficient interest exists in providing these services, Caltech may issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) or Request for Proposal (RFP) to competitively procure these services.
