Coast Guard, MLCP in Alameda, CA, proposes to contract for the Drydock
and Repair of USCGC Barracuda(WPB87301) an 87' Patrol Boat, homeported
in Eureka, CA. All work will be performed at the Contractor's facility
during the period of 29 Mar 99 through 09 April 99 at the Contractor's
facility. Major work items include; GANTT (Bar) Production Chart,
Temporary Services, Drydocking, Ultrasonic Measurement of Hull Plating
Thickness, Underwater Body Inspection, Fuel Oil Tank and Inspect.
Sewage/Grey Water Tank Clean & Inspect, Electric Meter Calibration,
Cleaning and Calibration of Pressure, Thermometers, Pyrometers,
Underwater Body Preservation (Partial), and Weather Deck Non-Skid
Renewal. A Request for Proposal (RFP) will be issued on November 19,
1998, in accordance with the Small Business Competitive Demonstration
Program. For Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises, The
Department of Transportation (DOT) Minority, Office of Small and
Disadvantaged Business Utilization has programs to assist minority,
women-owned and disadvantaged enterprises to acquire short-term working
capital assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are
available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at the prime
interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum
