Chestnut, Purchasing Agent, (843) 764-7400 Contractor to provide labor,
materials, equipment and supervision to perform in accordance with time
provisions and scheduled with housing inspectors as to which homes are
available each day as necessary to facilitate the proper removal of
duct contaminates i.e. dust, mold, soot, lint, hair, etc. Equipment
should be portable Hepa type triple stage with the final stage being
Hepa rated at 99.97% rated efficiency. A Foreman having knowledge and
experience in the cleaning of heating and a/c systems shall supervise
all work. The work shall be performed by experienced personnel provided
by Contractor while used on the premises. The existing heating and a/c
systems shall be maintained to all occupied areas during normal
working hours except when outages are approved by Housing. Contractor
shall provide all staging, scaffolding, ladders, or similiar equipment
required to properly carry out the work. Contractor shall provide
suitable protective covering in all areas of work operation. Any
mechanical defects will be reported to the CSR in charge. Contractor
responsible for taking own measurements and shall, at the end of each
shift, remove all waste, dirt, and debris, resulting from the work
performed. Such material shall be removed from the property and
disposed of at Contractor's expense, unless pre-qualified by Housing.
Accesses will be cut into duct for proper cleaning. Sheet metal panels
with the same or heavier gage metal shall be installed after ducts are
cleaned. All panels will be properly caulked. In plenum areas all
interior walls, ceilings, and floors shall be power vacuumed. Special
care and attention shall be given to areas having interior lining
materials and a light vacuum process shall be used to prevent damage to
side surfaces. All loose fibrous material shall be removed by a
combination of controlled forced air and power vacuum method. Any
dampers will be inspected and cleaned. All related equipment will be
power vacuumed and high-pressured airwashed where required. Areas with
rust or scale buildup will be wirebrushed or scraped. All dampers,
motors, and linkage will be set into their original positions upon
completion of work. All supply and return air ducts will be sealed and
a vacuum inserted, then brushed with a high speed ball brush to
dislodge all caked on dirt and contaminates. Then compressed air is
then to be injected into each outlet at 200 psi to force dirt and
debris into the vacuum. All ducts will be cleaned and then inspected as
