Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWPNS), China Lake, CA
intends to procure on a competitive basis a Time and Materials type
contract for on-call and per-call preventive maintenance, repair,
reconfiguration, and deinstallation/reinstallation as needed for
Government-owned Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) manufactured
equipment and attached peripherals (which may be third party). The
equipment to be maintained encompasses existing inventories and
equipment that will be acquired during the life of the contract to be
awarded. To qualify for award of this contract, all firms must be able
to obtain and maintain a facility clearance. Contractor personnel
performing under the resulting contract will be required to have and
maintain a security clearance up to and including the SECRET level. The
equipment to be maintained is located at two NAWCWPNS sites: China Lake
and Point Mugu, CA. The China Lake site of NAWCWPNS is adjacent to the
city of Ridgecrest, CA located in Southern California's Mojave Desert
approximately 150 miles northeast of Los Angeles. Equipment to be
maintained at China Lake will be located within a 50-mile radius of the
main complex. The Point Mugu site of NAWCWPNS is situated on the
Pacific coast approximately 53 miles northwest of Los Angeles, CA.
Equipment to be maintained at Point Mugu will be located either within
a 20-mile radius of the main complex or on San Nicolas Island located
60 air miles off the coast in the Pacific Ocean. Proposals will be
solicited by lots for each site and for all sites combined, and will be
evaluated for multiple award consideration. The Period of Performance
for the resulting contract(s) will be one year with four one-year
options. The estimated contract(s) start date is 1 March 1999. A site
visit will be held for this procurement with details provided in the
solicitation package. Additional acquisition requirements will also be
included in the solicitation, which will be released on or about 16
November 1998 and close 30 days thereafter. Requests for a copy of the
