HOMOGENEOUS NON-TOXIC HYPERGOLIC MISCIBLE FUEL COOPERATIVE RESEARCH AND
DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT (CRADA) OPPORTUNITY POC: Martha H. Harrington,
Code 4T1100D, (760) 927-1910 SUMMARY: The Naval Air Warfare Center
Weapons Division, China Lake, CA (NAWCWPNS) is seeking
Industry/Government partners to identify applications for homogeneous
non-toxic hypergolic miscible fuel (NHMF)/hydrogen peroxide propellant
systems. Navy scientists have patent applications on a NHMF/Hydrogen
peroxide system that is comparable in performance to current toxic
liquid systems used in the propulsion industry. It is the intention of
the China Lake site of NAWCWPNS to enter into Cooperative Research and
Development Agreements (CRADAs) with Industry/Government partners to
further characterize performance and applicability of this new fuel
system. The objectives of Navy domestic technology transfer are: (1) to
disseminate technology originally developed in support of military
applications for potential alternative uses in the public and private
sectors; (2) to provide joint cooperative development programs that
address problems of critical concern to the Navy and other agencies or
organizations; and (3) to leverage research and development
opportunities of mutual interest to the Navy and industrial
organizations. In pursuit of these objectives the Navy transfers
technology to other Federal Government agencies, state and local
government, small and large United States businesses, non-profit
organizations and such public service organizations as schools,
hospitals and foundations. Under the Federal Domestic Technology
Transfer Program, the Government is permitted to receive funds from a
non-Federal party. However, the Government is not permitted to fund a
non-Federal party. The primary focus of this announcement is to invite
interested parties to contact NAWCWPNS Energy Conversion Office to
arrange an appointment to discuss the technology and it's application
to specific needs. Those interested in initiating dialogue should send
their response to: Commander, NAWCWPNS, Attn: C. J. Meade (Code
4734FOD), 1 Administration Circle, China Lake, CA 93555-6100.
