An RFP, employing FAR part 12 commercial item acquisition procedures, for the award of an indefinite-delivery-indefinite-quantity contract will be posted in the Open Solicitations section of the Busines Opportunites portion of the SPAWAR web site for the purchase of Radio Frequency (RF) Amplifiers for installation onboard new construction ships. The RF Amplifiers will be used to provide increased power throughput to a Federated Radio System which consists of the RT-1747C/ARC-210 Receiver/Transmitter Unit and the OA-9277 RF UHF Multi coupler. The RF Amplifier shall be capable of operating in the 30 -- 400 Mhz Frequency Range and shall come in both a 100 watt and a 200 watt Configuration. The RF Amplifier shall be interoperable with the RT-1747C/ARC-210 and OA-9277 Multi Coupler in the 30 -- 400 MHz Range in both the 100 and 200 watt configurations. The system must be easily maintainable and have low life cycle costs. The RF Amplifier power requirements shall be compatible with existing shipboard and shore applications. The RF Amplifier shall provide remote BITE and Equipment Status indications. The RF Amplifier shall meet the following performance requirements: (1) Two separate products are required: 100W Line of Sight (LOS) and 200W SATCOM amplifier based on common components with similar chassis construction, (2) RF Power Output rated at no less than +20dbw (=/- 1dbw) in the 100 watt configuration and +23dbw (+/- 1dbw) in the 200 watt configuration. (3) The amplifiers shall operate over a frequency range of 30 -- 400 Mhz in Line of Sight (LOS) and SATCOM modes. (4) The 100 and 200 watt PA shall be limited in form factor to allow 12 channels of amplification to fit into a single standard 19 inch Navy shipboard rack. (5) Amplifiers must be capable of being controlled in 2 DBM steps when mated with the RT-147C/ARC-210 radio set. (6) Amplifiers must provide Unity Gain when provided with ARC-210 radio input signal. (7) Amplifiers Transmit/Receive turn around time shall not exceed 160 microseconds. (8)Amplifier in SATCOM mode must be capable of Half-Duplex mode operation and adjustable in 2 dB steps with power control provided by ARC-210. (9) Conformance to MIL STD 901D Grade A and MIL STD 167 Shock and Vibration specifications. The Government's cost estimates are approximately 15K per unit for the 100 Watt LOS amplifier and approximately 20K per unit for the 200 Watt SATCOM amplifier. Quantities required: First year minimum order of 85 of the 100 Watt LOS configuration with a maximum quantity of 203. Option for up to 125 additional 100 Watt LOS configuration units in the second year and third year option for up to 75 additional 100 Watt LOS configuration units. First year minimum order of 14 of the 200 Watt SATCOM configuration with a maximum quantity of 32. Option for up to 20 additional 200 Watt SATCOM configuration units in the second year and third year option for up to 20 additional 200 Watt SATCOM configuration units. 100 Watt LOS configuration required delivery schedule for minimum buy quantity: 4units no later than 15 May 1999; 16 units no later than 26 June 1999; 16 units no later than 24 July 1999; 22 units no later than 4 September 1999; 22 units no later than 2 October 1999; 5 units no later than 30 October 1999. 200 Watt SATCOM configuration required delivery schedule for minimum buy quantity: 4 units no later than 15 May 1999; 6 units no later than 26 June 1999; 4 units no later than 24 July 1999.
