This announcement constitutes the only solicitation: quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation NO. N49399-99-Q-0001 is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). The Standard Industrial Classification Code (SIC) is 3559 and the Small Business Size Standard is 500. The successful contractor shall supply rental of an Automated Pill Counting System FOB destination to the Receiving Officer, Building 449, Naval Ambulatory Care Center, Groton, Ct. 06349, installation to take place before 31 March 1999. Specifications as follows: Item 0001 -- one (1) each Automated Pill Counting System operable with existing electrical power to the department (110V). A minimum of 52 drug cells (drug storage containers) shall have a capacity of at least 200-1000 tablets/capsules of bulk stock. Drug cells shall be available in a variety of sizes to accomodate different tablet/capsule sizes (tablet diameters ranging from 1/8 to 3/4 inch, capsule sized 5 to 000. Digital readout within counting unit. Counting accuracy with margin of error of less than 0.5% per 1000 tablet/capsules counted. Counting unit spree at least 500 tablest/capsule a minute. Cabinetry designed to hold drug cells not in use. Drug cell exchange program to replace or resize cells to accomodate different size tablets/capsules. Preventive and corrective mainenance of all equipment for the term of the rental. Quote the following -- four (4) items separately, with a monthly cost. 1. Base 6 month rental covering the period 01 April 1999 through 30 September 1999 2. Option year one covering the 12 month period 01 October 1999 through 30 September 2000. 3. Option year two covering the 12 month period 01 October 2000 through 30 September 2001. 4. Option year three covering the 12 month 01 October 2001 through 30 September 2002.
