The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport together with the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China Lake is seeking information from potential sources regarding missiles/weapons for use primarily against small high speed surface craft targets similar to the US designed Air Cushioned Landing Craft (LCAC). Such missiles/weapons should be in production or development are desired to be readily adaptable for launch from the existing launchers of "fast-attack" class Submarines and demonstrable in the near term (FY 02) or sooner. Notional launcher concepts will also be considered, however, inputs must address platform impacts. Existing Submarine launchers include the Torpedo Tubes, Vertical Launch System (VLS), 6" diameter launchers, the Countermeasure Set Acoustic (CSA) MK 2, and the 3" diameter signal ejector. Interested sources are requested to submit a white paper and corresponding Power Point briefing, which shall provide an overview of the described weapon no later than 30 days from the date this notice is published in the CBD. The information provided shall include dimensions, speed, warhead size, guidance system (if any), range, sensor, seeker, recommended targeting approaches, number of weapons/targets that can be supported on the Submarine platform, and development or production status. Submarine integration approaches should also be addressed together with Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) unit production costs.
