R -- CONCESSION CONTRACT SOL GLAC004 DUE 120998 POC Jan Knox, Concessions Manager, (406) 888-7908 Public notice is hereby given that the National Park Service proposes to award a concession contract authorizing operation of accommodations, facilities, and services for the public at Granite Park and Sperry Chalets in Glacier National Park, Montana. The contract will authorize services for five (5) years beginning January 1, 1999, through December 31, 2003. To obtain a copy of the Prospectus interested parties should contact the Concessions Manager, Glacier National Park, West Glacier, Montana 59936, (406) 888-7908. The Prospectus describes the requirements of the proposed contract. SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: This contract renewal has been determined to be categorically excluded from the procedural provisions of the National Environmental Policy Act and no environmental document will be prepared. The previous concessioner performed its obligations to the satisfaction of the Director under the pervious contract until 1992. Under the Concessions Policy Act (79 Stat. 969; 16 U.S.C. 20d), the concessioner is entitled to be given preference in the renewal of the contract. The Secretary will consider and evaluate all offers received as a result of this notice. Any offer, including that of the previous concessioner, must be received by the Superintendent, Glacier National Park not later than December 9, 1998, to be considered. Posted 10/06/98 (D-SN259245).
