U.S. EPA Science Center is soliciting quotes for the furnishing,
delivery, and installation of one model WP08112-M Walk-In Environmental
Room Chamber. The product must be in compliance with the following
specifications: 1. PERFORMANCE (Based on ambient conditions of
21degrees C and 60%R.H.) Total internal heat and humidity loads: None.
1.1 Operating temperature will be minus 35 C to 40 C. (Future 4 C to
40 C). +/- 0.15 C control +/- 0.3 C uniformity 1.2 Operating humidity
future. (See Attached Literature) +/- 3%R.H. uniformity. Uniformity
specifications based upon empty chamber conditions 2. CONTROLS 2.1
Microprocessor-based P.I.D. controller with RTD sensor for temperature.
Dual digital display for process temperature and set point (deg C or
deg F). Auto-tuning feature. Controller includes a 3 year parts
warranty. 2.2 Microprocessor-based P.I.D. controller with electronic
dry type sensor for humidity. Dual digital display for process humidity
andset point. Auto tuning feature. Controller includes3 yr. parts
warranty. 2.3 High and low temperature limit system consisting of
separate electronic controllers with audible & visual alarms on control
panel. If a high limit condition occurs all heat producing devices will
be terminated. If a low limit condition occurs, all cooling devices
will be terminated. The controls will automatically reset when no
longer in an alarm condition. 2.4 Honeywell DR-4200 chart recorder for
temperature and humidity, microprocessor-based, fully configurable
chart speed and ranges, 2 pen, 10" diameter chart. 2.5 Light switch,
power switch, indicating power lights, and internal circuit breakers
for controls, heaters, and lights. 2.6 100 CFM fresh air and exhaust
system. 2.7 Shelving chrome plated, open wire, free standing racks. 24"
deep x 6 tiers high x 10-1/2 Lin. ft./ side wall total 21 Lin. ft. 3.
DIMENSIONS The following dimensions are close approximations only for
purposes of this quotation and may be subject to minor changes. Exact
dimensions will be detailed in the design approval drawings submitted
after receipt of order prior to manufacturing. 3.1 Interior working
space each compartment; 8'0-1/2"W x 10'10-1/2"D x 7'4"H 3.2 Exterior;
8'8-1/2"W x 12'6-1/2"D x 8'6"H Note: add 30" to the exterior height
dimensions for top-mounted electrical components and installation
clearance. 4. ROOM CONSTRUCTION 4.1 Modular foamed urethane panels for
walls, ceiling and floor, 4" thick, with bonded aluminum skins on
interior and exterior. Vapor seal at each seam. Interior: smooth
aluminum finished in baked-on white polyester enamel. Exterior:
embossed aluminum finished in baked-on white polyester enamel. 4.2
Floor surface shall be unfinished galvanized steel to support a
distributed load of 500lbs./sq.ft. 4.3 Entrance door to provide minimum
clear opening of 36" x 84" hinged at left with self-closing hardware,
key lock, interior safety release, and 14"x 14" viewing window. 5.
REFRIGERATION AND HANDLING 5.1 Rear wall plenum system consisting of
centrifugal fans, evaporator coil, (for future Refrigeration System)
heating coils, sensors, controls and all components necessary to
achieve and maintain the desired conditions. 5.2 False ceiling air
plenum system to provide temperature uniformity. 5.3 Modified humidity
system supply and install all interior piping extended through chamber
roof and caped off for future steam generator. 6. UTILITY REQUIREMENTS
6.1 Control circuits and lighting shall operate on 120/208 Volts, 1
phase, 60 Hertz, 3 wire service. 6.2 Compressors shall operate on 208
Volt, 1 phase, 60 Hertz, 2 wire service. 6.3 Floor drain or safewaste
required at room location to remove condensate. (Connection to open air
type drain by purchaser.) 6.4 Purified water will be required at room
location for future humidification system. The resistivity of this
water must be between 20,000 Ohms and 1,000,000 Ohms for proper
operation of the humidification system. 7. LIGHTING 7.1 Florescent
fixtures to provide approximately 70 foot candles @ 40" above floor @
20 degrees C. Fluorescent lighting must be suitable for an extended
temperature range of 4 to 40 degrees C. 8. FLOOR COVERING 8.1
Removeable vinyl laboratory grade 4 matting with narrow ribs to form a
washable, non skid surface over the entire interior floor. 9. WARRANTY
9.1 One (1) year on parts and labor beginning 30 days after shipment or
acceptance, whichever occurs first. For factory supervised
installations, the warranty begins on the day after room is installed.
9.2 The rooms described herein will be completely assembled and tested
prior to shipment. 10. INSTALLATION 10.1 This quotation includes
complete erection, installation of ixtures and accessories, integral
electrical wiring, connection of refrigeration components as well as
all auxiliary systems supplied as part of this quotation. Service will
alsoinclude start-up, field test, calibrate and instruct designated
individuals in proper operation of the completed installation provided
thereis no more than day delay in making final electrical and service
connections by the purchaser. 10.2 Installation does not include any
added costs which mkay be incurred through the use of trade union labor
should local conditions mandate that such be required. 10.3 Contractor
will not be responsible for cutting, patching necessary alterations to
the existing building, or prevailing conditions which would impair the
movement of material to site location or erection and operation of
unit as designed. 10.4 Providing the necessary power and mechanical
services with suitable safety disconnect devices to within 3 feet of
site location shall be the responsibility of the purchaser. 10.
Purchaser shall prepare the site for installation including the removal
of any existing structural element, ducts, conduits, piping or
materials which would interfere with this installation. Please submit
