MATHER MEMORIAL PARKWAY, Mt. Rainier National Park, Pierce county,
Washington. This project consists of 2.230 kilometers of grading,
drainage, base, paving, and retaining walls. Project includes:
construction survey & staking; construction schedules; contractor
sampling & testing; 4,565 metric ton hot asphalt concrete pavement;
1,414 metric ton minor hot asphalt concrete; 590 meter concrete
barriers; 322 meter Portland cement curbing; 284 cubic meter structural
concrete; 10,700 metric ton untreated aggregate courses; 230 meter silt
fence; 14,220 cubic meter excavation & embankment; 2,500 cubic meter
watering; 13,360 kilograms reinforcing steel; 789 square meters rockery
retaining wall geogrid reinforced; 400 square meter tied-back soldier
pile wall; 600 cubic meter riprap; 517 meter concrete asphalt sidewalk;
3,600 hrs flagger; 300 hrs pilot car; 15,560 meter pavement markings;
2 hectare turf establishment (hydraulic); and other smaller items of
work. This project is located approx. 65 kilometers SE of Enumclaw,
Washington. PRELIMINARY PLANS AVAILABLE APPROX. 10/15/98. Work shall be
completed in 180 calendar days. Estimated price range is between
$2,500,000 and $5,000,000. Presolicitation Notices are being provided
to firms on this agency's mailing list concurrently with the
publication of this synopsis. The following applies only to Minority,
Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs): The
Department of Transportation (DOT), offers working capital financing
and bonding assistance for transportation related contracts. DOT's
Bonding Assistance Program (BAP) offers bid, performance and payment
bonds on contracts up to $1,000,000. DOT's Short-Term Lending Program
(STLP) offers lines of credit to finance accounts receivable. Maximum
