Sea Systems Command has a requirement for the procurement of two (2)
Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) MK 1, including command tables, for the
LSD 41/49 Class ships, with an option for three (3) additional systems.
The procurement will include SSDS MK1 training, installation and
checkout (INCO) spare kits and replenishment parts, maintenance
assistance modules (MAMS), on-board repair parts and associated
engineering services and support. Ship sets will be built to meet
stated performance characteristics defined in the SSDS Segment of the
Quick Reaction Combat Capability, WS 33280 (21 December 1994) as
modified by the applicable Request for Deviations (RFDs), Specification
Change Notices (SCNs), and Government supplied software. The
contemplated contract will have an approximately 18 month period of
performance beginning with contract award in the second quarter of
FY99. The procurement will be conducted on a sole source basis with
Raytheon Service Company, Naval and Maritime Systems (NAMS) of San
Diego, California. Raytheon NAMS is the sole designer, design agent and
