COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF SEPTEMBER 24,1998 PSA#2187TENTH ANNUAL FEDERAL PROCUREMENT SYMPOSIUM The Tenth Annual Federal
Procurement Symposium will be held on 22 October 1998, from 9:00 AM to
5:00 PM, at the Radisson Hotel, 1001 Third Avenue, Huntington, West
Virginia. The Symposium is sponsored by the Huntington District, U.S.
Army Corps of Engineers; National Contract Management Association
(NCMA), Southern West Virginia Chapter; Marshall University Procurement
Technical Assistance Center; and the Lawrence County Economic
Development Corporation Procurement Outreach Center. The purpose of the
symposium is to provide an opportunity for small businesses to meet
with approximately fifty (50) Federal Agencies, State Agencies, and
Federal Government Prime Contractors to discuss contracting and
subcontracting opportunities and market their goods and services. In
addition, this symposium will enhance the abilities of the Government
Agencies and the participating prime contractors to place a reasonable
portion of their purchases with small and small disadvantaged
businesses by expanding and updating their source/bidders lists. There
is no charge to attend the symposium. Concurrent with the symposium,
the Southern West Virginia Chapter of the National Contract Management
Association will sponsor four procurement workshops. These workshops
will be held at the Radisson also and are available to the public at a
cost of $15.00 for NCMA members, $20.00 for non-members. Advance
registration for the workshops is encouraged. If interested in
receiving further information of the conference or the workshlps, call
