Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory (KAPL) is seeking sources to design and fabricate a scanning acoustic microscope. The microscope will be operable from 200 to 1500 MHz and be capable of inspecting material properties of thin films. The system will be capable of inspecting curved or irregular shaped components. KAPL anticipates the use of RF electronic circuitry to provide tone burst signals for the generation of the ultrasonic waves.
