9/4/98 for solicitation number 1PI-R-1169-98, as follows: add line
items 0008-Battery, UNICOR P/N BTT0024 per C,1120048, 24V Ref. Raymond
model 20R40TN; line item 0009-Battery, UNICOR P/N BTT0038 per
C,8624139-5 Ref. ACE50K (SHORE); line item 0010-Battery, UNICOR P/N
BTT0066 per C,2-72400-2 Ref. Elwell-Parker model (Model Truck
FEX60T4SS); line item 0011-Battery, UNICOR P/N BTT0048 per C,159111145
Ref. Yale Model ERCO25AB. All "Shipboard" batteries must be "high
Impact" designated. Add MIL-S-901 Shock Test, High Impact; shipboard
machinery, equipment, and systems, requirements for. Batteries must
have Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) Characteristic. When required.
Batteries and battery leads shall be shielded as necessary to meet EMI
characteristics required of trucks on which batteries are mounted while
trucks are in operation. Tests for this requirement shall be in
accordance with 4.4.11 (deviations from W-B-133D, Dated 26 July 1985
for battery, storage Lead-Acid, Industrial Portable Service) Previous
successful test may be deemed to be evident of compliance with
requirements. General purpose (shorebased) truck with battery shall be
suppressed in accordance with SAE 551c. Shipboard trucks shall be
suppressed in accordance with class C1, Group 2, Part 8 of MIL-STD-461.
EMI test shall precede test of 4.4.12. When ordering batteries it must
be ensured that the batteries are in accordance with W-8-133 and MS
15367 for type E or EE batteries or MS 16974 for type EX batteries.
Reference Federal specification W-B-133D dtd 26 July 1985, Military
Standard MS 15367 dtd 30 August 1985, and Military Standard MS 16974
dtd 18 July 1986. Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 52.211-2,
Availability of Specifications Listed In the DOD Index of Specs and
Standards (DODISS) (JUN 97). Closing date shall be extended through
Friday, October 9, 1998 at 1:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time. Note 9.
