optic, LEVEL I, hull penetrator to be provided as an assembled unit
IAW MIL-C-24231/11-001 or MIL-C-24231/11-004 mod. Penetrator to
consists of (8) receptacles M24231/13-010 mod fitted with eight 20
channel fiber optic inserts as specified on NAVSEA drawing #04887001.
The fiber optic receptacle insert assemblies shall be supplied with 45
plus or minus 1 foot of GFM fiber optic cable. The inboard terminal
ends of the cables shall be terminated with "ST" type fiber optic
connectors. Perform hydrostatic test to verify pressure integrity to
2000 PSIG and optical insertion loss measurements shall be made at
1300NM with the goal of not exceeding 1.0 Db IL per mated channel.
Quantity: 1 EA. Item 0002: Re-engineer the fiber optic inserts
PE#04887001 and fiber optic right angle plug assembly per NAVSEA
drawing #04888001, to improve the performance, reliability and reduce
manufacturing cost. Deliverable documentation shall consist of
generating and providing (3) sets of reproducible general
assembly/installation drawings. Quantity: 1 JO. Item 0003: Fiber optic
20 channel right angle plug assembly mfr'd to NAVSEA drawing #04888001
as modified by item 0002 and polyurethane overmold to GFM cable. Each
cable shall be tested with the penetrator item 0001. The terminal end
of the outboard cable shall be terminated with "ST" type fiber optic
connectors. The cable shall exit the plug at 3 o'clock position
relative to the 6 o'clock key when viewing the mating face of the plug
assembly. Perform hydrostatic test to verify pressure integrity to
2000 PSIG and optical insertion loss measurements shall be made at
1300NM with the goal of not exceeding 1.0 Db IL per mated channel.
Quantity: 8 EA. Item 0001 is in the Naval Level I, Subsafe program and
requires any potential vendor to have an approved inspection system,
marking of all pressure boundary parts with permanent markings, and
furnish complete with chemical and physical certifications. Procedure
approval and test results are required for the following: Liquid
penetrant testing, ultrasonic testing and hydrostatic testing.
Deliveries will be to the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, NH
03801. This acquisition is reserved exclusively for Small Business
Concerns; the standard industrial classification (SIC) code for this
acquisition is 3643 and the small business size standard is 500
