The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) intends to issue multiple Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPA) to De La Rue to acquire propriety spare parts for various types of equipment. This equipment includes a)I-8 intaglio printing press;b) Nota-sav inspection system; c)F Press spare parts not under BEP contract TEP-95-47; and d) Currency Overprint Equipment (COPES) in the manufacturing of US currency and stamps. Funds are not presently available for performance for this equipment until after October 1, 1998(Fiscal year 1999 funds). The Government_s obligation for performance of ths requirement beyond that date is contingent upon the availability of appropriated funds from which payment for contract purposes can be made. The simplified acquisition procedures set forth in FAR parts 12 and 13 shall be used. This procurement action is for supplies in which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302 and 13.106-1. See numbered Note 22.
