The Naval Research Laboratory requests proposals for turn-key Sea-Going Acoustic Data Acquisition and Measurement System (SGAMS). The SGAMS is an autonomous data acquisition system whose function shall be to acquire and store broad and narrow band ocean acoustic data as well as system engineering and environmental support data. When deployed SGAMS shall be completely submerged, presenting no surface expression, to minimize mooring response to surface wave induced motions. The basic configuration shall be a high data rate sixty-four (64) channel acoustic system and a low data rate 60 channel engineering sensor system capable of being expandable to 128 acoustic channels and 120 engineering channels. Acoustic arrays of varying length and hydrophone populations shall be included and attached to the system. The system components shall consist of three pressure modules: a Data Acquisition Unit (DAU), a Data Storage Unit (DSU) and a Power Source (EU). The SGAMS operation depth shall extend to at least 2000 meters. The system shall be designed for operation maintenance and reprogramming by sea going scientists without support from the system manufacturer. Complete specifications shall be issued with the Request for Proposal (RFP). A Firm Fixed Price contract is anticipated for system components with options for additional components, expansions and arrays. The deadline for receipt of proposals will be on or about 30 days after issuance of the RFP. NRL uses Electronic Commerce (EC) to issue RFPs and amendments to RFPs.
