39 -- MECHANIZED MATERIAL HANDLING SYSTEM DUE 100998 POC For copy,, For additional information contact D. Dowty/Pkwrm/ [937]257-8344 It is our intent to contract for the design, manufacture, construction, installation and testing of an air cargo handling system at Kadena AB, Okinawa, Japan. The system shall be capable of handling USAF 463L pallets and consist of the following components: two (2) elevating transfer vehicles (ETVs) operating in a three level, totally enclosed pallet storage canopy; 159 pallet storage positions with extractor-driven rollers; three (3) pallet lifts and powered conveyor to interface with the ETV; 14 powered staging docks that interface with the USAF aircraft loaders; and a pre-pack dock consisting of powered conveyors and built-in scales that interface with the ETV. The pallet storage canopy shall include a fire protection system and be built to withstand local conditions (typhoons, earthquakes and heat).
