The project consists of 13.9km of grading, drainage, and paving.
Project includes: construction survey & staking; construction
scheduling; contractor sampling & testing; 39,000 metric ton hot
asphalt concrete pavement; 42 metric ton asphalt tack coat; 51 hectare
clearing & grubbing; 35 cubic meter concrete for headwall; 113,000
metric ton aggregate base Grading D; 10km dust palliative; 125,000
metric ton subbase Grading A; 2,135 meter pipe; 7,500 meter silt fence;
350,000 cubic meter excavation & embankment; 5,000 cubic meter
watering; 70,200 square meter roadway obliteration; 16,400 meter barbed
wire fence; 250 cubic meter gabions; 9,100 square meter earthwork
geotextiles; 2,000 meter guardrail; 17,000 cubic meter place conserved
topsoil; 1,050km reinforcing steel; 1,600 cubic meter riprap; 3,300
meter riprap lined ditch; 3,000 hrs flagger; 600 hrs pilot cars; 76,200
meter permanent pavement markings; 580 slurry units seeding & mulching;
4,400 square meter erosion control mat; 6,800 each willows; and other
smaller items of work. This project is located approx. 8 km north of
Lakeview, Oregon. PRELIMINARY PLANS WILL BE AVAILABLE APPROX. 10/9/98.
Work shall be completed by 10/30/2000. Estimated price range is
between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. Presolicitation Notices are being
provided to firms on this agency's mailing list concurrently with the
publication of this synopsis. The following applies only to Minority,
Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs): The
Department of Transportation (DOT), offers working capital financing
and bonding assistance for transportation related contracts. DOT's
Bonding Assistance Program (BAP) offers bid, performance and payment
bonds on contracts up to $1,000,000. DOT's Short-Term Lending Program
(STLP) offers lines of credit to finance accounts receivable. Maximum
