Dydak, Contracting Officer, (703) 607-6909 The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) intends to acquire a CNN Rebroadcast License from Turner Broadcasting System, for rebroadcasting of CNN Headline News, CNN Domestic and CNN International by the Joint Broadcast Service (JBS) in support of DISA=s Bosnia Command and Control Augmentation (BC2A) initiative. There are currently no alternative government or commercial broadcast or cable television services which provide continuous national and international news, events and analysis of a scope, timeliness and content comparable to the CNN channels. See Note 22. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; a proposal is being requested from Turner Broadcasting System and a written solicitation will not be issued. Request for Quotation DCA100-98-Q-0087 applies to this action. The RFQ and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-06. A Purchase Description for the authority to rebroadcast CNN news services to land-based receiving sites for the period 1 October 1998 through 30 September 1999 will be forwarded under separate cover. The offeror shall include a completed copy of the provision at FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications -- Commercial Items, with its offer.
