DIRECTION FINDING EQUIPMENT -- REQUEST FOR INFORMATION/SOURCES SOUGHT
NOTICE: The US Army CECOM, Product Manager Ground Based Common
Sensor/Advanced Quickfix (PM GBCS/AQF) is conducting an industry survey
for Manpackable Direction Finding Equipment. The system should be
capable of scanning the frequency range of 20 to 90 MHz and to be able
to intercept and monitor single channel, Push to Talk (PTT) single
channel communications within that band. The system should also be
capable of developing a Line of Bearing to the emitter and to be able
to network with other identical radios to develop a geo-location for
selected emitters. Those sources who believe that they have a system
that could meet the above requirements (or easily modified to be able
to meet the above requirements) are encouraged to provide
specifications, item description, and other pertinent material to
enable this office to develop an acquisition strategy towards acquiring
such a capability. Any information relative to schedule for
development, production, delivery, and price history would also be
helpful. All proprietary information should be marked as such. This
Request for information (RFI)/Sources Sought (SS) Notice is for
information and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a
solicitation or as an obligation of the part of the US Army CECOM. The
purpose of this RFI/SS is to identify potential sources that may be
interested in and capable of performing the work described herein. US
Army CECOM does not intend to award a contract on the basis of
responses nor otherwise pay for the preparation of any information
submitted or for PM GBCS/AQF's use of such information. Acknowledgement
of receipt of responses will not be made, nor will respondents be
notified of PM GBCS/AQF evaluation of the information received.
SUBMISSION: Responses to this RFI should be submitted no later than
4:00 pm EST on 30 October 1998. An original and one copy shall be sent
to Department of the Army, PM Ground Based Common
Sensor/AdvancedQuickfix, Ft. Monmouth, NJ 07703-5303, Attn:
SFAE-IEW&S-SG (Major Wilk), Building T-288. COMMUNICATION WITH US ARMY:
