The Federal Bureau of Prisons' Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC), located in New York, New York, requires the services of a Jewish Rabbi to provide religious services, programs and counseling for its Jewish inmate population. These requirements will be solicited under Request For Quotations (RFQ) number RFQ 158-0037-8. The Government estimates, but can not guarantee, that the work schedule will consist of one service per week and an additional four to be scheduled for each Holy Day. Each service will consist of three concurrent sessions (each session equals a one-hour length of time). In any event, the individual performing the services shall not exceed thirty (30) hours of performance per week. The individual providing these services must hold a four-year undergraduate college degree and be a graduate of an accredited Rabbinical school. Additionally, the individual should have experience in pastoral counseling in a correctional setting and should have current and past experience in a synagogue. The base period of performance would begin on the date of contract award through a one-year period. Four additional one-year option periods may be exercised in accordance with the terms of the resulting contract. The RFQ issue date is anticipated to be September 18, 1998 and the response date is anticipated to be October 7, 1998. It is the responsibility of prospective quoters to verify these dates.
