Simplified Acquisition procedures repair services for a defective
condition related to the horizontal end-platform handholds and improper
location on the A&B end of the rail boxcars. The RFQ will require the
contractor to correct the position, length and installation of the
end-platform handholds to meet regulations, provide labor, materials,
equipment and any related items required to perform these repairs on
sixty four rail boxcars. The repairs must be performed in accordance
with Federal Regulations, Association of American Railroad (AAR)
standards and Federal Manual Interchange Rules, latest versions. The
boxcars identified are located at three different locations: U.S. Army
Depot Hawthorne, NV, U.S. Army Depot McAlester, OK, U.S. A rmy Depot
Middletown, IA. Small Business firms classified under SIC Code 4789
that are interested in proposing on this requirement must register in
accordance with the instructions below. RFQ issuance date will be on or
about September 14,1998. A single award will result from this
solicitation. No telephone requests will be accepted. The solicitation

Offerors desiring to receive electronic notification of the
solicitation's posting and availability for downloading may register at

Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide
accounts receivable financing. T he maximum line of credit is $500,000.
