This requirement is a replacement for an existing system. NSWCDD is procuring the system to increase capability while retaining existing functionality. The ZZYZX system consists of commercial components specifically selected and combined with ZZYZX proprietary hardware to provide the required functionality. It was determined that ZZYZX Workstations manufactured were the only system that could provide the needed capabilities while maintaining compatibility with existing equipment. This procurement is necessary to ensure duplication and enhancement of the original functionality. This system is proprietary and can be procured only from the manufacturer. Also this procurement involves a 30 day test requirement evaluation period for the product to implement a fully redundant fail over system that has the following capabilities: Able to function in a DNS/NIS server environment; able to store UNIX and NT files on different raid sets within the same raid dual controller environment, passive/passive or passive/active mode; ability to test programming functionality and efficiency when using different raid formats such as raid 0,1 (0,1), 3,4, or 5; ability to add and remove disks with processes not being interrupted (hot swappable disks); expandable to have cluster capability; Dual controller options with automatic fail-over when one controller is nonfunctional (ie., hardware fail-over system should have fail-over time of less than 1 millisecond.); easy manageability of host and disk SCSI channels and controller.(ie., 64 commands or less to manage SCSI channels and controller.); Verify documentation to have a minimum of a three year warranty; expandable disk capacity to a minimum of 180 GB; Disconnect one of the redundant power supplies while system processes are running with no system degradation. Disconnect one raid controller while system processes are running and have no system degradation, i.e., still have total system functionality. Remove one disk while system processes are running and have no system degradation. Remove one redundant cache battery while system processes are running with no system degradation. Remove one SCSI host scale while system processes are running with no system degradation. Turn off one host (primary or original secondary) while system processes are running and have the system fail-over to the other host with no system degradation. Hardware fail-overs should have a fail-over time of less than 1 millisecond.; Software fail-overs should have a fail-over time of the less than 5 seconds; able to upgradethe current SCSI controller to Fiber Channel Solution. The Exabyte backup system dual drive heads-Backup System-Ten tape, 8mm Auto-Loader using Seagate Backup Exec., Software Schedule (fully recoverable from any 8MM tape drive unit when backed up in 2G blocks); can back up to 14G of disk space when in compresssed mode per 8mm tape. Expandable to 50G per 8mm tape, using AIT 8mm add-on drive. Minimum of 300 GB native capacity and up to 780 GB compression when writing to the 8mm tapes. Two year warranty minimum. Software must be able to automate the backup process and the 8mm tape will be able to be recovered from any 8mm tape drive Unix system using tar, dump and vdump Unix systems commands. The APC Smart UPS System must be designed to meet an up-time and full system load of 4 hours minimum. The full system load consists of one Ultra60, one Ultra1,2 NT servers, raid controller and will be tested to the 4 hour minimum up-time loading requirements.
