The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) intends to issue an RFQ that will lead to a single award for the leasing of facilities and services for a conference. This solicitation falls under SIC 7011. Possible conference dates (2 consecutive weekdays) are: September 8-9, 1999; September 14-16, 1999; or September 22-24, 1999. The location of the conference must be within 225 miles of the Washington, DC area (no more than 4 hours driving distance). SPACE: The facility must accommodate a plenary session room for up to 700 participants; six -- seven breakout rooms separate from the plenary space for at least 100 participants each; a separate registration area for up to 700 participants; ample exhibitor space with audiovisual (AV) and computer hook-up capabilities; and luncheon facilities for both days for up to 700 participants in one room. SLEEPING ROOMS: Sleeping rooms needed the night before the conference and the first night of the conference -- up to 200 sleeping rooms (if located in the Washington, DC metro area), or up to 700 sleeping rooms (if located outside the Washington, DC metro area). MEALS/ BREAKS: Continental breakfast each morning for up to 700 participants (can be served in the Registration Area); Luncheon (banquet-style) both days for up to 700 participants; and Mid-morning and Mid-afternoon breaks with beverages and light snacks. OTHER: AV equipment and onsite technical support. MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS: The hotel must be compliant with the Hotel and Motel Fire Safety Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The facility must have contiguous breakout space, be willing to make the conference site non-smoking during the 2-day conference, and have adequate security. HOW TO ACQUIRED A COPY OF THE RFQ: Requests should be received, in writing, no later than 15 days from the date of this listing, i.e., 5:00 pm, September 11, 1998. Requests may be faxed to (202) 606-2548. Only one copy of the RFQ will be sent to each requestor. OPM anticipates issuing the RFQ on or about September 14,1998. The RFQ will contain specific details of the conference, instructions for submitting a proposal, and how the proposals will be evaluated. The solicitation will be issued on an UNRESTRICTED basis.
