E-MAIL: Shelley Hall, hallsa@pkwsmtp.wpafb.af.mil. Presolicitation Notice -- Base Restaurants Contract. This notice is a REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. The Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) Base Restaurants (BR) provide feeding support and resale outlets to the base populace through full service cafeterias, canteens, mobile trucks, vending, catering, and sundry stores. Some of these activities are and may be contracted out. Each base operates autonomously and is a unique activity upon itself. BRs fall under Air Force Joint Instruction (AFJI) 34-122. BR's are nonappropriated fund instrumentalities (NAFIs) and are located at six AFMC bases throughout the United States, to include Hill AFB, UT; Kelly AFB, TX; McClellan AFB, CA; Robins AFB, GA; Tinker AFB, OK; and Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. The primary purpose for the establishment of these NAFIs was and is to provide a percentage of profits to support civilian recreational programming, maintained and monitored by a base Civilian Welfare Fund (CWF) board. The PURPOSE of this announcement is to request comments ONLY, on the Draft Statement of Work (SOW) found at the following URL: http://www.pixs.wpafb.af.mil/pixslibr/baserest/baserest.asp The SOW describes contractor taskings required to support the objectives of A STUDY which will be used to assist the Government in determining what, if anything, can be done with respect to operational improvements at the BRs located at the bases mentioned above.
