requirement is in support of the MEASURE program. Required are a family
of expendible devices developed for deployment from standard, tactical
aircraft countermeasures dispenser systems (CMDS) to support the
collection of environmental data during parachute-controlled descent,
and after ground impact. Individual GPS Tactical Dropsonde expendable
devices include: -- GPS TDrop, which collects atmospheric data:
pressure, temperature, humidity, wind speed and wind direction; --
HiMetSonde, which collects the same data as GPS TDrop, but operates at
altitudes up to 65,000 feet; -- ChemSonde, which collects data on
chemical warfare agents. This effort will include the engineering
support, manufacturing and program management activities necessary to
deliver limited quantities of TDrop units. It will also include
