The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Divison, Dahlgren, VA, intends to purchase on a sole-source basis, 14 (fourteen) Dual Mode Differential Charge Amplifiers, Kistler Corporation Model 5026, via their distributor, Farrell Associates, Inc., located at 932 Hungerford Drive, Suite 10A, Rockville, MD 20850. These amplifiers are to be used in conjunction with existing equipment on-site at NSWCDD. The existing equipment, made by Kistler, obtains pressure data on the firing ranges. The amplifiers have built-in voltage sources for calibrating transducers. New calibrations are needed on each round fired, which the equipment does automatically. To purchase other types of amplifiers would not be cost effective or productive, the reason being, is that after each round fired, gauges would have to be disconnected and the calibration source would have to be inserted to take the reading. Since the Kistler models do this utomatically, personnel are used more effectively and efficiently. Award is to be made underSimplified Acquisition Procedures.
