NASA/GSFC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) 830-81620-710 for Item 1 -- 8 each Parallelling Cable, Part Number 4822-0214; Item 2 -- 18 each Inverter Units, 3.5 KVA. The units will be capable of parallelling three units to produce 10.5 KVA in Phase. Model Number: 4B3500-2A-NB-1072, Part Number: 1-002-0102-1072. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from Avionics Instruments Incorporated, 1414 Randolph Ave., Avenel, NJ 07001. Avionics Instruments manufactured Inverters presently configured on board the NASA aircrafts have been shared by both aircraft, additional inverters are required if both aircraft should be needed at the same time. No other sources can supply this special equipment and it is therefore necessary to purchase from Avionics. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested firms have 15 days from the publication of this synopsis to submit in writing to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the 15 days or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
