Solicitation DACA31-98-R-0058 for Renovation of Pentagon Basement Segments 2 and 3 was cancelled (ref. CBD notices dated 10 Apr 98, 21 Jul 98, 31 Jul 98, and 21 Aug 98). The following presolicitation (MDA947-98-R-0002) for Phase I of the Renovation of the Basement Segments 2 and 3 is issued in lieu of the cancelled solicitation. The Government intends to issue an RFP to procure pre-construction teaming support services for Phase I of the Pentagon basement renovation of Segments 2 and 3. Segments 2 and 3 include the renovation of administrative space and classified command and control areas. (Phase II will include the construction and tenant fit out of Segments 2 and 3, and will be accomplished under a separate solicitation and as a full and open competition.) The Government intends to award up to three fixed-price contracts in the amount of $100,000 each on a best value basis for Phase I services. Each contract will run consecutively for a period of nine (9) months. The Phase I contractor(s) shall provide the Government's A&E with construction input during the design process. This effort will include, but not be limited to, providing suggestions regarding scheduling, constructability, construction sequencing, coordination of utilities, risk mitigation, and working within an occupied building. The Phase I contractor(s) shall also provide cost and quantity estimating. The Phase I contractor(s) shall actively participate in design working meetings as well as other meetings as required. Phase I contractor personnel must have, or be able to obtain by the start of work, U.S. Secret clearances. The tentative date for the release of this RFP is 1 Oct 98.
