Communication and Electronics Command, R&D Center, Command and Control
Directorate, Army Power Divisions, Power Generation Branch is
soliciting information from manufacturers of diesel engines that meet
EPA and CARB requirements. The engines are being considered for
replacing engines currently in the MEP-005(30 kW) and MEP-006 (60 kW)
Military Standard Generator Sets for purposes of reducing emmissions
and operating and support costs. Drawings of the engines will be
available upon request by the offeror. Other information may be
obtained via the technical POC above. The following are the engine
characteristics for the existing 30/60 kW Military Standard Generator

information, including, but not limited to, engine descriptions, engine
specifications, performance capabilities, operational photographs,
availability, and price quotes. The Government does not intend to award
a contract on the basis of this RFI or otherwise pay for the
information solicited. No funds have been authorized or appropriated
for this effort. The information provided in response to the sources
sought may be used by the Government in developing its acquisition
plans. The information present in the information package provided by
the contractors is for informtion purposes only and does not mandate or
impose requirements. It is highly desirable that daata be received with
unlimited rights to the Government;however, we recognize that
proprietary data may be included with the information provided. If so,
clearly mark such proprietary information and clearly separate it from
the unrestricted information as an addendum. Request that all
information be provided within 45 days of this announcement.
