market research is to determine if existing commercial or
non-developmental items are available and suitable to fulfill the
Army's requirement for an Airborne Water Distributor System. As
currently envisioned, the Airborne Water Distributor System will
consist of a spray module of approximately 1000 gallons. The system
must be mountable on both an M1090 dump truck and the current 5 ton
tactical trailer. It should be capable of spraying a 30 foot swath
reducible to 15 feet. The system will be employed by engineers in
airborne units to distribute water for soil compaction, soil
stabilization and, dust control. The system will also be used for fire
fighting with foam chemicals. For these reasons, the system must be
capable of spraying water, foam, dust palliatives and, soil additives.
To support the airborne mission, the system must be capable of air
drop and helicopter lift delivery. The system must also be capable of
operating in a stand-alone mode as a wash-rack. Firms offering products
