rleach@usgs.gov. The U.S. Geological Survey, Geologic Division,
Seattle, Washington, has a requirement for three (3) each IDS-20
digital strong motion seismographs with the following options: a) 4
megabytes removable flash memory, PCMIA interface; b) three batteries
with built in AC charger, allowing 60 hours autonomous operation; c)
temperature controlled crystal oscillator clock (0.31 parts per million
accuracy); d) +/- 2 g internal SSA-320 force balance accelerometer; e)
serial data stream (UW version); f) IDS Menu setup and analysis
software; g) GPS receiver with 100 ft. antenna cable; h) NEMA 6P
enclosure; e) UW datastream modem cable. In addition, one (1) each
IDS-20 digital strong motion seismograph with all the options above,
but with 6-channel recording capacity, instead of the standard
3-channel (this item should revert to a 3-channel recorder if we don't
have sufficient funds for the 6-channel configuration. The Government
intends to award a contingency contract subject to the availability of
funds. The USGSintends to negotiate on a sole-source basis with Terra
Technology Corporation, 3854 148th Ave., NE, Redmond, WA 98052-5373.

supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and
negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302.
Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to
respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent
is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals
received within fifteen (15) days after date of publication of this
synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the
Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon
responses to the notice is solely within the discretion of the
Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for
the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive
