This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial item prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is F04700-98-Q-1779. This is Request for Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through FAC 97-03. This acquisition is unrestricted. The following are the requirements: Pulse/Scan Generator that can generate the required pulse and scan modulations necessary to simulate the prospective threat emitter environment. Each pulse/scan generator unit must have a minimum of two channels and each channel shall be capable of being fully synchronous with the other (pulse digital and analog scan). Equipment must be able to cycle through multiple pulse and scan presets per channel, with a programmable time period for each preset. The cycling will continue for a programmed number of times or indefinitely. All emitter parameters must be user programmable in common threat parameter terminology (i.e., PRI, PW, scan type, scan time, beamwidth, etc). Equipment must be able to generate complex PRI patterns such as jitter and stagger PRIs. It must have a removable storage capability sufficient to store the parameters of a minimum of 50 different threat emitters and an industrial grade termperature rating to +85 degrees Centigrade. Each pulse/scan generator should be a single rack-mountable unit with front panel controls and display and have front panel input/output connectors.
