Specialist, 202/435-6940 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation which
will be accomplished in accordance with the Small Acquisition
Procedures. The Following Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Clauses
are applicable unless otherwise noted: FAR Part 52.212-1 and 52.212-4;
52.212-1(b)(8) is deleted. The associated SIC Code is 3663, and the
small business standard is 750 employees. The U. S. Secret Service has
a 100% Small Business Setaside requirement for a portable, user
friendly, terminal with a secure cellular telephone like communications
with the ability to transmit data and voice anywhere in the world,
universally adaptable for 110-250 VAC or from 12/24/28 VDC. This system
will be deployed in concert with a Mobile Digital Darkroom (1050L-009)
and must be configured to a laptop via a serial port. Antennae and
system should be deployed and packaged together. RFQ 98-Q-73 is issued
as a request for quotations. F.O.B. Destination (Landover, MD).
Delivery within 30 days after contract award. The Government intends to
award acontract, to the responsible offeror whose quotation conforming
to the specifications will be the most advantageous price to the
Government. Quotes should be faxed to 202/435-7138, ATTN: Renea Morton,
before 3:00 P.M. August 28, 1998. The Government anticipates an award
date on or about September 4, 1998. This announcement constitutes the
only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written
solicitation package will not be issued. The Government will not be
responsible for any costs in the preparation of responses to this
