for Quotation (RFQ) #R220Q980022 for lightweight cargo nets. This is
a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in
accordance with FAR Subpart 12.6. This notice and the original
solicitation initially available August 13, 1998 constitute the only
solictation; a separate written solicitaiton will not be issued. The
closing time and date for this solicitiation remains 4:30 P.M. MDT on
September 15, 1998. Quotations shall be submitted to the Acquisition
Management Office at the National Interagency Fire Center, Bureau of
Land Management, 3833 South Development Avenue, Boise, ID 83705-5354.
The following changes have been made. The weight characteristics of the
cargo net should read: (a) 1,500 pound (681.8 kg) minimum ultimate
breaking strength; (b) 600 pound (272.7 kg) proof test; and (c) 300
pound (136.4 kg) working load. Each net assembly shall be marked with
a permanently labeled fabric tag (not metal or plastic) showing working
load and date of proof test, name of manufacturer, and date of
manufacture. In addition, the identification tag or an additional
fabric tag shall have an area for the Government to enter the date the
cargo net is first placed in service. The tag(s) shall be securely
attached to the net assembly. Additional authorized ordering agencies
consist of ten additional Federal wildland fire caches, including (1)
Northern Rockies Area Fire Supply Cache, (2) Rocky Mountain Area Fire
Support Cache, (3) Southwest Area -- Prescott Fire Support Cache, (4)
Southwest Area -- Silver City Fire Support Cache, (5) California
(Northern) Fire Support Cache, (6) California (Southern) Fire Support
Cache, (7) Northwest Area Fire Support Cache, (8) Southern Area Fire
Support Cache, (9) Eastern Area Fire Support Cache, and (10) Alaska
Fire Support Cache. Each delivery order shall contain the following
additional information: (g) Ordering agency's name and address. A copy
of each delivery order issued shall be furnished by the ordering
agency to the NIFC-BLM Contracting Officer. Delivery locations for
cargo nets shall be specified in each delivery order. Delivery shall be
limited to the following additional geographic locations: (1) Prescott,
AZ, (2) Ontario, CA, (3) Redding, CA, (4) Broomfield, CO (Denver area),
(5) London, KY, (6) Grand Rapids, MN, (7) Missoula, MT, (8) Hurley, NM
(Silver City area), (9) Redmond, OR, and (10) Fairbanks, AK. Each
delivery order shall identify the designated billing office for that
order. Any U.S. Forest Servcie organization placing delivery orders
under this contract shall provide their agency-specific payment
information with their ordering documentation. If an ordering agency
requests any special handling for a delivery order, such as special
packaging requirements or expedited delivery, any adjustment to pricing
shall be outside of this contract and negotiated separately between the
ordering agency and the Contractor. All other terms and conditions of
