COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF AUGUST 21,1998 PSA#2164FIRST AIR VENDOR MEETING FIRST AIR VENDOR MEETING FOR EPA ENVIRONMENTAL
TECHNOLOGY VERIFICATION'S ADVANCED MONITORING SYSTEMS PILOT The
National Exposure Research Laboratory (NERL), Office of Research and
Development (ORD), U.S. Evironmental Protection Agency (US EPA),
Research Triangle Park (RTP), North Carolina 27711, and Battelle,
Columbus, Ohio, are partners in an Environmental Technology
Verification (ETV) pilot for Advanced Monitoring Systems (AMS). The
goal of ETV is to verify the performance characteristics of
commercially ready environmental technologies so potential purchasers
and permitters are provided with an independent and credible assessment
of the technology they are buying or permitting. The AMS pilot is
focused on verifying air, water, and soil monitoring technologies. The
AMS pilot's first vendor meeting will be held August 24, 1998, at
Battelle's facilities in Columbus, Ohio, for vendors with portable
systems for monitoring nitrogen oxide and nitrogen dioxide (NO/NO
2)emissions from small sources. The purpose of this vendor meeting is
to give technology vendors the opportunity to suggest parameters for
verification testing of portable NO/NO 2 analyzers and to plan the test
schedule. For more information about the AMS pilot and vendor
opportunities for technology verification, contact Helen Latham at
Battelle, 505 King Avenue, Columbus, OH 43201, phone 614-424-4062, fax
614-424-5601, or email Lathamh@battelle.org. More information about
