Y -- BUILDING #410 FOUNDATION AND PAD CONSTRUCTION SOL R220Q980023 DUE 092298 POC Kay Ryan, 208-387-5717 The Incident Communications and Infrared Operations Unit (ICIOU) at the National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) has a requirement for additional office and classroom space because of the consolidation of the Engineering and Co-Op Education Programs and the re-activation of the Operations Section. To create this added space, the Government is planning to add a free standing metal building to the existing Telecommunications Building. This notice announces the first phase of the project, site preparation and placement of the foundation and pad. Workmanship and fabrication tolerances shall be in accordance with ASTM and engineering quality control standards. The foundation and pad shall be for a four sided building 6 m X 18 m X 5.5 m (20 ft X 60 ft X 18 ft), that will be permanently attached to the west end of the building located in Boise, Ada County, Idaho. Scope of the project includes repositioning and reattaching the security fence and gate to maintain airport security, removing the existing asphalt, communications tower, and base, and preparing the ground surface and placing the pillar supports, footings and stemwalls. The concrete pad shall be cast-in-place concrete and shall include reinforcing steel and form work over the aggregate subbase. Work shall commence according to the instructions on the notice to proceed form. All work shall be completed by November 13, 1998, weather permitting. This procurement is a 100% small business set-aside and SIC 1771, Concrete Work applies. The small business size standard is $7.0 million for the past three fiscal years. Simplified acquisition procedures will be used for award and Davis-Bacon labor rates apply. Only written offers will be accepted and it is anticipated award will be made by September 28, 1998.
