CECOM Acquisition Center -- Washington intends to acquire for the Army, other DOD (including Foreign Military Sales) and other federal agencies commercial portable computers, related peripherals, and office automation software items. The anticipated requirements include standard and high performance notebook systems, operating systems, hard disk drives, port replicators, color monitors, a five year warranty and other related items. The planned FFP IDIQ 2 year flat priced acquisition method for all items includes (1) straight purchase for all CLINS/SLINS and 2) lease options for specified bundled systems. A final RFP will be released on or about 13 November 1998. It is anticipated that two awards will be made. The ordering period is anticipated to be for 24 months and a 12 month optional ordering period, the exercise of which will be based on contractor performance. An unrestricted Firm-Fixed-Price, Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity Contract is planned. The Source Selection Process is anticipated to use a best value trade off process.
