This announcement constitutes the only Solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written Solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is DTFH61-98-Q-00109 and is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) incorporating provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-06. The contract line item is for a X-Ray Real Time Radiography (RTR) and Computed Tomography (CT) System which will be used to acquire images of steel, concrete, and asphalt specimens for research and development -- - BIR Model number ACTIS 600-420 Automated Multifunction Inspection System with accessories such as Tri-Field Image Intensifier with CCD Camera, Solid State Linear Array Detectors, and Real Time Radiography and Computed Tomography System, delivered F.o.b. Destination to Federal Highway Administration, 6300 Georgetown Pike, McLean, VA 22101. This is a BRAND NAME requirement. Based on previous testing, the BIR Model ACTIS 600-420 is the only known system that will meet the FHWA specifications.
