This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation is issued as Request for Proposal Number FA4452-98-R0011. This document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-7. This is a full and open competitive acquisition under Standard Industrial Classification Code 3663, Size Standard -750 employees. AMC Contracting Flight intends to issue a contract under the test program described in FAR 13.5 for the following: Item 0001, Mobile Satellite Communication System -- 90 EACH. Salient characteristics include: Phone with RJ-11 phone interface jacks; Ambient Temperature operating range -25 degree C to 55 degree C, minimum data rate of 2.4 KBPS, detachable antenna (must be able to fit in 30x22x12 portable fly-away case), selectable audio satellite-pointing feature, maximum weight 15 lbs, ruggedized to withstand outdoor environment, uses existing satellite global beams. Item shall be Thrane & Thrane 3030Q OR EQUAL. Item 0002, 30 Meter Antenna Cable w/connectors -- 90 EACH. Item shall be Thrane & Thrane LSS-93148 OR EQUAL. For "Or Equal" products, descriptive literature must be submitted in accordance with DOD FAR SUP Clause 252.211-7003, Brand Name or Equal. Thrane & Thrane is distributed by LandSea Systems Inc., 849 Seahawk Circle Suite 103, Virginia Beach, VA 23452. Proposal shall include the manufacturer's name, brand, and model or part number of item being offered. Delivery is to be made to Systems Processing & Engineering Corporation (SPEC), 101 West 6th St, Suite 200, Austin TX 78701-2932 within 120 days after receipt of order.
