SPECIAL NOTE: THIS PROJECT IS NOT FUNDED AND AWARD IS SUBJECT TO FUNDING APPROVAL. On or about 8/10/98, this office will issue a Request for Proposal for building expansion at Shawano WI. Proposals will be opened on 9/8/98 at 3:00 PM. THIS IS NOT A PUBLIC PROPOSAL OPENING. The value of the work is estimated to be between $850,000 and $1.2 million. Description of the work is: The project consists of a 2,770 sq. ft. workroom addition and a 2680 sq. ft. loading dock addition totaling approximately 5,450 sq. ft. The workroom addition includes an entry vestibule, box lobby, investigative office and workroom. The loading dock addition includes three (3) dock bays as part of an enclosed loading dock and additional workroom space. The existing loading dock is to be demolished to allow the construction of the new loading dock. The site work includes asphalt and concrete paving, curbs, ramps, stairs, walks, and retaining walls. The existing 3940 sq. ft. facility will be remodeled and includes a box lobby, service lobby, Postmaster's Office and Toilet, toilet, and workroom on the main floor. Approximately 900 sq. ft. of the existing basement will be remodeled and includes men's and women's toilets and locker rooms. The work also consists of a new HVAC system for the entire facility. The building will remain occupied and in use during construction, requiring that the work be completed in phases to minimize the inconvenience and disruption to the public and the Postal Service. The site is bounded on the east by Main Street and on the south by Presbyterian Street. The contractor will be required to commence work within 10 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed and complete within 310 calendar days. Liquidated damages will be accessed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. There will be a NON-REFUNDABLE FEE FOR PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS.
