The Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) and Federal Prison Camp (FPC), Estill, SC, intends to award a non-personal service contract for providing instruction to inmates relating to current Parenting issues, including, but not limited to: Children's development at various ages, dealing with troubled teens, rejection, co-dependency, literacy, etc for fiscal year 1999. Some of the duties are but are not limited to the following: utilizing a curriculum provided by the institution or other pre-approved curriculum (to included Parenting Skills, Skills for Family Support, Family Literacy Education, Substance Abuse Education, and Prenatal Care for Expectant Mother), and maintain records. The Contractor work schedule will normally consist of two (2) sessions per week and one (1) Saturday a month, with the session length defined as two (2) hours per session, Monday through Saturday, excluding holidays. The sessions will begin at 6:00 pm and end at 8:00 pm, Monday through Friday and on Saturday beginning at 10:00 am and ending at 12:00 pm. A college degree in Education is desirable. However, at a minimum (3) three years of satisfactory experience in the field of Education as a parenting teacher, counselor, or equivalent and a high school diploma or equivalent may be substituted for the degree in Education. The contractor must have a minimum of (1) one year as a parenting teacher, teacher, counselor, or equivalent. (1) One year experience in a correctional setting is desired. The Federal Correctional Institution, Estill, SC, intends to award a base year contract in FY 1999 with options to renew the contract for four (4) successive years.
