This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation F05611-99-Q0005 is issued as a request for quotation(RFQ). This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-07. The Standard Industrial Classification Number is 7378 and the Business Size Standard is $18 M. REQUESTERS MUST STATE THEIR BUSINESS SIZE ON EACH REQUEST. Women and small disadvantaged business are encouraged to submit offers. The proposed contract listed here is unrestricted. This solicitation is being issued as a proposed sole source to Intermec Corporation. Line Item 0001 -- Intermec Hardware Maintenance as per attached Statement of Objectives (SOO) -- QTY 12 MO -- UNIT PRICE _______________ TOTAL PRICE _______________ Line Item 0002 -- As-Required Hardware Maintenance as per attached SOO, para. 5 -- QTY 1 JB -- UNIT PRICE ________________TOTAL PRICE ___________. Statement of Objective (SOO) for Maintenance of Intermec Equipment 1. Scope of Work. Request Bronze coverage of Model 9512 readers, Model 3000A label printers, Model 9161 concentrators, Model 1545 laser guns, Model 9440 hand-held Trakkers, Model 9570 and Model 9710 wedges. Bronze coverage is return to vendor for repair and includes Express Depot Service, which is 2 working days turn-around. Request Platinum coverage of Model 8646 and Model 4100 and 4400 label printers. Platinum is on-site coverage, 5 days a week, 8 hours a day with a 4 working hour response time. Services is required at the U.S. Air Force Academy during the period 01 Oct 98 -- 30 Sep 99. Request that Models 1620 and 9570 are to be serviced as required for time and materials only. 2. Year 2000 (Y2K) Compliance. All Information Technology (IT) items must be Y2K compliant. Noncompliance items must be upgraded at no additional cost and be Y2K compliant by June 1, 1998, but not later than December 31, 1998. Y2K compliant means IT accurately processes date/time data (including, but not limited to, calculating, comparing, and sequencing) from, into, and between the 20th and 21st centuries, and the years 1999 and 2000 and leap year calculations. Y2K compliant IT, when used in conjunction with or exchanging data with other IT, shall accurately process date/time information. 3. Contractor Experience. Support shall be provided by qualified technicians. 4. Equipment/Software List. INTERMEC equipment listing attached. 5. Payments. Payments will be monthly in arrears. 6. Invoices. The following additional FAR provisions and clauses apply: 52.212-2, Evaluation-Commercial Item, the Government will award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer conforming to the solicitation will be most advantageous to the Government, priceand other factors considered. The following factors shall be used to evaluate offers: 1) Technical acceptable; 2) Past performance; and 3) Price. Technical acceptable is considered the most important. Technical acceptable will be evaluated based on the function and operation of the items. To be technically acceptable the item shall meet the Government's specifications. Offerors shall submit descriptive literature, product samples, technical features, and warranty provisions. Past performance is considered more important than price. Past performance will be evaluated to ensure satisfactory business practices and timely performance. Price will be considered as the least important factor. Price will be evaluated to determine its fairness, completeness, and reasonableness as it relates to the items offered. 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items, a completed copy of this provision shall be submitted with the offer. 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items. 52.212-5,Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Items, to include clauses 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, and 9.
