NASA/KSC plans to issue a Request for Offers for construction of removing existing 15kV-480/277 volt and 15kV-208/120 volt unit substations and replacing with pad-mounted transformers and free standing weatherproof switchgears at the John F. Kennedy Space Center, Florida. The work include Replacing specific switchboards, panelboards and motor control equipment as required to feed the existing 480 volt and 208/120 volt loads. Providing an automatice transfer switch and manual transfer switches for connection to existing generators both portable and fixed. All work is to be preformed in accordance with a KSC drawing and specification. The order of magnitude for the procurement is between $500,000 and $1,000,000 and the effort shall be completed within 520 calendar days after notice to proceed. This procurement is part of the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The SIC Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 1731 and 7.0 million, respectively. The anticipated release date of the RFO is on or about 8/31/98 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about 9/30/98. The firm date for receipt of bids or offers will be stated in the RFO. Drawings will be available from the Bid Distribution Office 407/867-2851. All QUALIFIED responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency.
