T -- PUBLISHING/JOURNALISTIC SUPPORT SERVICES SOL W13G07-8212-2008 POC Purchasing Agent Peggy Dube (508) 233-4481 (Site Code DAAN02) PUBLISHING/JOURNALISTIC SUPPORT SERVICES -- US Army Soldier Systems Command (USA SSCOM) has a requirement for publishing/journalistic support to be performed at its Natick, Massachusetts facility. The support required consists of, but is not limited to the following in the estimated percentages indicated: 1) Sixty percent developing, writing and editing hard news and feature articles for print and electronic media using journalistic style; 2) Thirty-five percent layout and design publishing using desktop publishing; and 3) Five percent photojournalistic techniques involving the use of 35mm photos to support articles. In addition to these three factors, at least a working knowledge of the following equipment and software is required: a) Umax Power Lock II Scanner; b) IBM PC; c) Macintosh 7600/120 & 7500/100 Power PCs; d) Banyan Beyondmail (E-mail); e) IBM and Macintosh WordPerfect; f) Microsoft MS Word; and g) Adobe PageMaker, Illustrator and PhotoShop. In order to equitably evaluate technical skills, the following work samples will be required for submission along with the estimates: 1) Three samples of hard news stories; 2) Three samples of feature stories; 3) Three samples of publications (news/brochures) prepared using desk-top publishing; and 4) Three samples of 35mm photographs. The period of performance is 1 Oct 98 thru 30 September 1999 and will require one person to work approximately 2080 hours over the twelve month period.
