COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF AUGUST 18,1998 PSA#21611998 COMBAT VEHICLES CONFERENCE 1998 Combat Vehicles Conference,
September 21 -- 23, 1998, Fort Knox, KY. The impact of the Army's
transformation during a period of profound financial constraint is
being felt by the Mounted Force. It is clear that the Mounted Force
must remain trained, ready and well equipped to deal with the
uncertainties of the future. New approaches, certainly far from cast in
stone, will be needed to contribute to the Army's transformation. This
conference will deal with the issues head-on, with ample opportunity
for collegial debate, so that the Mounted Force contribution to our
future Army will be long remembered, and valued as greatly as our past
accomplishments. The Army will continue to look to the Mounted Force
for victory, and we will deliver decisively. LTG John N. Abrams, Deputy
Commanding General, US Army Training and Doctrine Command has been
invited to be the Keynote Speaker. Other speakers include LTG Paul J.
Kern, Military Deputy to Assistant Secretary of the Army for Research,
Development and Acquisition [ OASA(RDA)] and Director, Army
