1998 COMBAT VEHICLES CONFERENCE 1998 Combat Vehicles Conference, September 21 -- 23, 1998, Fort Knox, KY. The impact of the Army's transformation during a period of profound financial constraint is being felt by the Mounted Force. It is clear that the Mounted Force must remain trained, ready and well equipped to deal with the uncertainties of the future. New approaches, certainly far from cast in stone, will be needed to contribute to the Army's transformation.
