TACOM-ACALA Acquisition Center, Artillery & Mortar Group, is soliciting proposals on a 100% Small Business Set Aside basis, from qualified organizations, for engineering and technical services to complete technical work that includes support to the M198 Howitzer, M198 Rapid Force Projection Initiative (RFPI) and the Lightweight 155 Howitzer. Award will be a one year contract with four, 1-year option periods and the tasks will include developing and providing technical information for equipment publications, developing and providing recommendation and rationale for positions on logistics issues concerning maintenance/operational concepts and design features, recommending and providing data to simplify system maintenance and improve its serviceability, hands on maintenance technical assistance on weapon systems and/or training to equipment users, developing logistics management information related to provisioning of equipment improvements and/or new systems, and performing maintenance of sighting andfire control equipment. The proposed contract is 100% set aside for small business concerns. (see Note 1) Estimated issuance date of the RFP DAAE20-98-R-0182 is September 4, 1998.
